Last doll standing

Dear Diary,

It's been a big surprise for us.  Instead of interest in our blog drying up once the final post was published, the number of daily visits continues, up to 97 visits in a day.  People keep coming to see what's here.  So, I'm going to do some postings from time to time and see what happens.

 I am now the last remaining doll in our household.  Since I have only human company, I will have to adapt to living in a big people world.


I refused to leave the house until I had a pair of trousers to wear.  My friend Henry asked his mum to make some for me as a surprise.  One day, a parcel came in the post and inside was a pair of wonderful long pants!  You can see how handsome I look in them.

I don't know when I'll be back to write in my diary.  For now, I wish everyone much happiness.

Dear Diary, Jesse :   About 25 years ago, in the age of paper books, I read a story about a famous woman and her boy doll.  I was totally taken with the story and I never forgot it.  In fact, it was to have a huge influence on my doll play and collecting. A couple of years ago, I was thinking about the story and I wanted to find it again.  As advancing age and retreating memory does, I couldn't remember any names and I had many of the details mixed up and incorrect.  I remembered the basic story, however, so armed with sparse information, I began the current age Google Search.  It was a hard slog, going down many dead-ends because of my incorrect remembrance of facts and the scarcity of factual information.  I refused to give up and I kept trying all kinds of combinations of information until, at last I found what I was looking for.  Eureka!  This is an abbreviate story about Joe Corsairs and Lord Tod Wadley.  (The information is taken from various internet sites.) Leaving New Zealand behind

Dear Diary, Our home has sold and we will leave New Zealand for our new home country next week. I have loved living here and I’m going to miss my home and friends. Not everyone gets to live in little village in the country in an old church and hall. The church was built in 1906 and closed in 2012 when we bought it. The hall was built in 1953. We built the addition which joins the church and hall. Our property boarders on three streets and goes to the upper left corner. The paddock enclosed by the high hedge is part of it. The goats can be see in the back paddock. Now, it’s off to our new adventure! The question is: where are we going? Hans
